Carbondale CO

Carbondale is one of the places we have heard good things about, so we wanted to check out the area. It's 116 miles west of Breckenridge. The drive, mostly on Interstate 70 is stunningly beautiful. We need to move to Colorado...

We're staying at the Carbondale/Crystal River KOA, about 6 miles south of Carbondale.

River views right from the RV Park
It situated in a very narrow valley along the Crystal River. It's beautiful with the snow capped mountains in the background.

That night, we have dinner at Konnyaku, an interesting Asian fusion restaurant, in Carbondale. Tom's favorite was the Negi-Maki, thinly sliced grilled Black angus rib-eye steak wrapped around fresh asparagus, scallion, and goat cheese then drizzled with teriyaki sauce and a Hawaiian sweet basil-cilantro pesto...sorry, I forgot to take pictures, as usual.

Then the morning after we arrive, we awaken to a light dusting of snow, enough to stick to the ground...and the car.  Tank really enjoyed his morning visit to the dog run!

Then, we spend some time in the morning visiting a realtor, then investigate some of the properties in the area.

Our final day is spent heading south to Aspen to check out the town. The town is, I guess not surprisingly, packed with tourists, even in the pre-ski season. Not feeling it, we grab lunch and head back to Carbondale.
