Ridgway State Park - Ridgway CO

There is still sooo much of Colorado to visit! After our short stop in Carbondale, we're heading 118 miles south to Pa-Co-Chu-Puk Campground in Ridgway State Park. The drive south of Carbondale on Highway 550 is stunning!

Pa-Co-Chu-Puk is located right next to the Uncompahgre River--I'll admit, I still haven't figured out how to pronounce it. The Uncompahgre looks like a great fishing river, but it is catch-and-release only. The campground has it's own stocked fishing pond, and you can keep the fish you catch there.

A few miles south of the park is Ridgway, a small town of less than 1,000 people. Driving to Ridgway is amazing, as you come around the bend on the mountain, a beautiful, aspen filled valley opens before you with the Uncompahgre winding its way next to the road.

We get into town and find the Riggs fly fishing shop for Tom to get his fishing license. Tom did some fishing there and caught a couple of trout and then released them... no really I DID catch a couple!

  2. Yeah did you see the for sale sign in that one shot? We think the ranch was over 1000 acres. Just a smidge over our price range.
