They've taken us to sample the beers and sushi and sashimi in the area:
and put Tom to work to pay for our stay:
But our RV is now ready, and we need to continue our original plan to head to Yosemite before the summer rush. It's almost impossible to get reservations at National Parks, and Yosemite is one of the most popular. However, it's the beginning of the camping season, so they have some weekday walk-up sites available. We're going to take our chances and hope to get a spot!
It's been about three years since we were last at Yosemite, and we stayed at the Bridalveil Creek Campground, which is past Badger Pass on the way to Glacier Point. This time around, Bridalveil Creek is not yet open for camping, and we are lucky enough to get a site at North Pines Campground on the valley floor.
Because the Merced River is flooding some of the campsites, campsites are only available on a one night basis, so each morning, one of us (Tom) has to be in line by 8:00 to reserve the site for another night.
Yosemite is beautiful in the Spring. The dogwood trees are blooming...
and the water is flowing at full force.
